Direct Color Systems, a leading manufacturer of small-format, direct-to-substrate printers, recently introduced their Multisolve IR7 pigmented inks. These mild solvent-type inks were designed exclusively for Direct Color Systems' Model 1309, 1314 and 1324 Direct Jet printers. They can also be used in the company's Model 1212 and 1320 printers when a solvent-resistant head is installed in the printer.

The IR7 line of inks includes Yellow IR7, Magenta IR7, Cyan IR7, Black IR7, and Clear IR7, along with White IR5 and Solvent Wash IR7 (for cleaning of ink supply components). The inks provide vibrant, high-intensity colors, with consistent color density values.

Formulated for use in both flexible and rigid applications, Direct Color Systems' new inks are quick-drying and produce high-resolution, detailed images. Because they are pigment-based, they are UV stable and resist fading in outdoor environments.

The extremely versatile Multisolve IR7 inks print directly to a wide range of substrates such as PVC, ceramic tiles, natural tiles, wood, aluminum, glass, ABS, polycarbonate, leather, engraving plastics, paper, acrylic, crystal, CDs and DVDs. Typical applications include awards, signage, advertising specialty items, novelty items, equipment plates, name badges and more.
