Durst has introduced a high-speed version of its Rho 800 Presto Large-Format UV Inkjet Printer with continuous board printing at the FESPA commercial imaging trade show in Amsterdam. The new Rho 800HS, comes equipped with the latest iteration of Durst's Quadro 30D Array print head technology to offer blazing speed and high efficiency while delivering exceptional image quality, Durst said.
Compared to its previous design, Durst's Quadro 30D Array print head technology doubles the number of nozzles per color to 2,048. In addition, ink temperature is accurately regulated at the nozzle, and a Point Drop Setting ink regulation system is incorporated to deliver the highest image quality at the highest speed, Durst said. Together, these technologies raise print output capabilities by about 80 percent, Durst said.
The same continuous board printing system found in the Rho 800 Presto is available in the Rho 800HS. Materials are registered at the leading edge using mechanical front stops. The transport system then positions the next series of boards against the first, ensuring continuous printing without interruption.
"We've incorporated out latest imaging, workflow and operational technologies into a proven production imaging platform to create the Rho 800HS printer," said Christopher Howard, senior vice president of sales & marketing for Durst US. "Users can complete a wide array of print jobs faster and more cost-effectively?which improves their operations, their ability to say yes to their customers, and their profits."
Also similar to the Rho 800 Presto, the Rho 800HS prints on multiple narrow boards across its total 98-inch width, on materials up to 2.75 inches thick, at a top speed of more than 2,000 sqft/hr. In productive two-pass mode, it delivers exceptional image quality at nearly 1,200 sqft/hr. The Rho 800HS also is compatible with Durst's roll feed / take-up accessory, designed for long runs and fast media changes. It handles oversized rolls up to 440 pounds (200kg), diameters up to 12 inches (30cm) and widths up to 98 inches (200cm).
Howard added that Durst will conduct customer "demos" over several weeks starting in June at its manufacturing facility in Lienz, Austria. Interested companies in the US and Canada should contact Durst US at 585/486-0340, ext. 5270. Durst also intends to exhibit the Rho 800HS in the US at the SGIA trade show, Oct. 7-9 in New Orleans.
