ACTEGA Kelstar's UV Soft Touch Coating for the Graphic Arts Industry has the following technical ranges for the commerical and packaging industry.

Run/Application: On sheetfed presses, run speeds of 8,000 to 10,000 IPH are recommended, applying the coating with a 10-14 bcm anilox. (Higher volume aniloxes can be used, but, the cure speed will be slower).

Screen printing the UV-8820ST is possible, provided that extra precaution steps are taken. Some steps include using a water resistant “knock- out” emulsion on the screen, not leaving the coating sit idle for any length of time (see below), and not applying the coating thicker than with a 305 mesh. The coating will come out soft, but, will “post-cure” quickly.

Cure Testing: A cured film of UV-8820ST will typically yield 10 to 20 MEK double rubs, have a gloss level
