Esko Automation Engine

Esko is the only company to have embedded integrated automated quality assurance tools from Global Vision (the world leader in the design of innovative proofreading technologies) into an automated workflow. The Global Vision Quality Control Platform allows users to find and eliminate errors on packaging with automated inspection tools for text, graphics, barcodes, Braille, and printed components. Now integrated into Esko Automation Engine, GlobalVision tickets are an easy way to check the accuracy of files and provide quality control within the Esko workflow—and most importantly, automatically.

In doing so, it eliminates time-consuming manual quality control checks. Automated quality checking tools allow customers to process more jobs with the same people and with fewer errors. Global Vision quality control tools within Automation Engine include a spell checker and automatic checking of barcodes and Braille against an approved profile. Files can be compared to one another, even if they are different file types. The quality check runs as a background process and results in an annotated and viewable design file for Automation Engine, WebCenter and in ArtPro+. This enables fast, systematic revision of all detected errors.

Because of the tight integration, GlobalVision results show up directly in the Esko Viewer, in Illustrator through Esko’s DeskPack plugins, and even in Esko WebCenter. Rules can be built into the workflow to determine the action that must be taken when errors are found within Automation Engine. With the first fully automated quality control workflow solution, users become automatically aware of any problems that arise exactly when they occur.
