The EFI Pace print management system and EFI Metrix from EFI (Booth 1902) – an automated production planning and imposition system – have been integrated and automated to deliver new value to the user. With the EFI Metrix-Pace integration, Pace estimators and planners are able to take advantage of the embedded Metrix engine to assist with every estimate and every job plan, with minimal operator effort or intervention.

Every Pace estimate and/or job can now include Metrix layouts, automatically updated any time the operator makes a change to the Pace quote or job. Moreover, the layouts are fully editable within Metrix, which is now accessible directly through the Pace interface. Any changes made in Metrix are automatically carried back through to the Pace estimate or job.

Before this development, Metrix and Pace each had their own databases of equipment and shop standards. Now, the Metrix database is part of the Pace database, so when any change is made to the Pace equipment list or other settings, those changes are also updated in Metrix automatically.

With this integration, the Pace operator can now call on the embedded Metrix engine to automatically gang jobs – at the estimating stage – and have Pace calculate the cost for each product based on the sheet geometry of the Metrix layouts. Prior to this integration, Metrix operators were only able to generate ganged layouts at the production stage, and cost re-calculations in Pace had to be entered manually.
