EFI (Booth 1902) PrintFlow, the industry’s leading scheduling platform, provides the automation and software intelligence required to globally optimize a commercial printing facility. This capability helps to maximize capacity utilization while reducing waste and improving profits.

Up until now, however, many digital printers have discounted the use of an automated scheduling solution for their digital operations. This is unfortunate as digital operations tend to require the management of many more jobs with faster turn times. The latest version of PrintFlow includes new workflow capabilities designed to manage digital operations and equipment much more efficiently, making digital scheduling more doable and impactful than ever before possible.

PrintFlow now fully understands digital printing and its unique needs, down to “page-level” data. Users can not only schedule inline finishing based on the capabilities of their digital devices, the software now helps users determine the best scenarios for in-line and off-line finishing based on throughput capabilities, costs and other production needs.

Some additional and unique capabilities of the new PrintFlow Digital release include:

  • Automated color splitting according to the capabilities of identified digital equipment.
  • Workflow management based on page ranges.
  • Automated scheduling according to “lean cell” manufacturing methodology.
  • Automated scheduling according to the Theory of Global Optimization (TGO), a print-focused methodology.
  • An understanding of your equipment and capabilities with the ability to redirect work when equipment/resources are down or unavailable.

Additionally, EFI PrintFlow offers integration features to create a more-cohesive digital printing workflow connected with your EFI Print MIS system and Fiery Driven digital printers.
