ProImage America's (Booth 2461) NewsWay Press Register is a software solution that corrects for mis-registration on the printing press without the need to touch or modified the press. This is done by reading the registration deviations on the printed media (for each color) and applying the corrections to the digital files which are to be exposed on the plate. By this, the registration correction process practically covers all possible errors starting from plate cut, exposing device (CtF or CtP), punch, bender, plate gripping system and other mechanical alignment issues on the press.
Press Register is able to processing TIFF separations to correct for static registration issues. With advances in technology and new algorithms it becomes possible to resize, rotate, mirror and shift the Tiff separations at precise increments to more effectively compensate for press mis-registration and web growth.
Using an easy to use wizard, the operator defines the plate size, the required registration and angle deviations for each separation. It will then automatically adjust the 1 bit TIFF image data of each plate.
Designed to be a stand-alone unit running on a windows server, Press Register uses hot folders and can operate at any print site and integrate into any workflow.
