Recosoft Corp. (Booth 652) will be demonstrating PDF2ID, a PDF file conversion tool for Adobe InDesign. PDF2ID converts PDF documents into fully editable InDesign documents, recreating the intended construction and layout of the document. It saves valuable time in recreating PDF content in InDesign; there is no need to remake the contents of a PDF file to the InDesign format from scratch. PDF2ID forms paragraphs, applies styles, regroups graphic elements, extracts images, creates tables, recovers annotations and other complex elements automatically, converting every PDF page to an equivalent page in the final InDesign document.

PDF2ID supports properties such as transparencies, clipping paths, text on a path, transformed text, and geometric transformations. Image resolutions can be maintained or lowered. Images can be saved as separate image files or even embedded in the InDesign document. It has been engineered from the ground up to provide seamless integration with Adobe InDesign, eliminating the necessity to acquire and install additional PDF data recovery tools, resulting in enhanced workflow automation, and providing huge cost savings.

Features:

  • Open PDF documents directly in Adobe InDesign CS3-CS5: PDF2ID operates as a plug-in for Adobe InDesign, enabling you to directly open PDF documents within Adobe InDesign.
  • Complex PDF file reconstruction: PDF2ID uses sophisticated computing modeling technologies in recreating the intended construction of the PDF document, supporting complex abstractions such as text on a path, gradients, transparencies, clipping paths, and mathematical transformations.
  • Advanced Conversion Controls: PDF2ID provides complete control over the conversion process. Options for font substitution, frames linking, text frame reduction, annotation management, and image resolutions exist designed for fine tuning the conversion result.
  • High Performance: PDF2ID utilizes modern computing resources, taking advantage of the processing power available in multi-processor/multi-core systems. PDF documents are converted to the InDesign format in a short amount of time.
