CGS' (637) ORIS CxF is a software platform for creating, managing, and applying ISO standard Color Exchange Format (CxF) files to ensure brand color fidelity throughout the design, production, and print fulfillment supply chain for packaging and related brand materials.
The first element of the software, ORIS CxF Toolbox:
- Can maintain an open format (XML) library of brand colors for reliable application in any proofing or printing process or device
- Can generate spectrally accurate ISO 17972-4 compliant CxF or CxF/X-4 data from a CGATS measurement file generated by a color measurement device.
- Can manage PDF/X files with CxF, including:
- Extract CxF/X-4 data from an existing PDF/X file.
- Manage output or rendering intent variables such as ICC profiles, as well as ink laydown order and other press-critical variables embedded in the PDF/X file.
- When necessary, modify or replace CxF/X-4 data in a PDF/X file.
- Can add critical metadata, including brand owner identification and contact information.
- Can deliver data required for accurate proofing of brand colors, including matching of color tints and overprints, on any CxF-capable proofing system.
- Can deliver data required for accurate ink formulation and print process control, including print tolerances, TVI expectations, opacity, and ink sequence.
The second element of the software, ORIS CxF Designer:
- Imports CxF/X-4 colorimetric data into an Adobe Illustrator color palette, allowing designers to use valid brand colors in the creation of any package or other printed product.
- Includes valid CxF/X-4 metadata in PDF/X files exported from Adobe Illustrator.
