UD-300 Die Cutter from Duplo USA
Shown for the first time in Xerox’s (Booth 613) booth, the UD-300 Die Cutter from Duplo USA provides a cost-efficient solution for producing custom-shaped pieces with faster job turnaround and minimal setup times. This offline die cutter can produce a variety of digital print and packaging products like custom-shaped brochures and direct mailers, stationery, retail packages, labels and folded boxes in quantities as low as one. Designed for use with flexible dies, the UD-300 performs multiple cuts, slits, slit-scores, kiss cuts, perforations, and window punches for single or multiple-up pieces on a range of stocks up to 14” x 20” at 3,000 sheets per hour.
Several customers are using the solution, including Centon Electronics, who has been using the UD-300 and Xerox Color 1000 Press to produce on-demand packaging applications for items like USB flash drives, battery packs and phone cases. “We used to use a guillotine cutter and did lots of clamshell packaging. The die cutter changed how we do packaging,” said Damian Carrizales, production manager at Centon Electronics. “The UD-300 has helped us make everything on-demand now. If we need something, we no longer have to order die cut pieces in bulk and store our materials. We do it ourselves.”
