Air Motion Systems (Booth 2825) is showcasing its XP9 Series LED UV curing solution at GRAPH EXPO 16. The extension to the XP line offers the highest curing intensity available on the market (up to 25W/cm2), longer LED chip lives (as many as 30,000 hours), and an optional MultiWave upgrade, which enables the use of a greater variety of inks, including some traditional UV inks, by delivering multiple wavelengths to the substrate.
XP9 units employ AMS’s Peak Optics technology, which makes it possible for the lamp to be positioned as far as 150mm (6”) away from the substrate while still delivering full curing intensity. Additionally, units can be built as small as 75mm (3”) and as large as 3.6m (142”) wide, making them ideal for a host of presses, including high-speed offset setups.
AMS’s XP Series LED UV curing systems use significantly less power than traditional UV systems, eliminate mercury, ozone, heat and powder from press rooms, and help sheetfed offset printers put an end to issues like scuffing and marking.
