Xerox has announced the Xerox Wide Format 6204 Copier.

Xerox has announced the Xerox Wide Format 6204 Copier, a solution which offers architectural, engineering, construction and manufacturing firms, as well as commercial print shops, an affordable new option for producing black-and-white technical documents.

The compact new Xerox 6204C comes with all the same capabilities and industry leading Quality of output that has become the industry benchmark with the 6204 Multifunction device. The 6204C has been disfeatured from the 6204 Multifunction version, this now allows users of tradition analogue technology an entry product to move to digital at an attractive price point.

Access Controller at its heart; Xerox Freeflow Accxes is the industry leading CAD workflow technology driving this copier, even with the copier only feature, the modularity of this can be enabled to allow users to scan jobs to the network, allowing customers to archive and convert the paper based documents to digital.

"When ready the customer can at any point in the future upgrade this system to the full printer multifunction device, thus ensuring our Customers have a long return on their investment," said Howard Witt, European Wide Format Manager, Xerox Europe.

Delivering in a single foot print the stand alone 6204C Integrates copying, scanning, with sharp image quality, The system employs 600 x 600 dpi copying, scanning and technology to ensure crisp and accurate image quality on jobs such as construction plans, electrical wiring diagrams or mapping.

The intuitive user interface makes the device easy to operate, even for users that aren't familiar with making frequent coping needs.

The Copier can produce up to four A1 size images per minute and has a manual by pass to handle odd sized formats, allow even A4 prints to be made doubling up as an office copier for the small site office.

The system is completely scalable offering the options to add a second paper roll, full network printing, speed upgrades to 5 A1. can be upgraded to a full 6605 with color scanning options.

The printer is equipped with the FreeFlow Accxes Controller allowing customers to copy and scan-to-file simultaneously. Other features include available to build your customize your system:

• Q-series; Q Copy & Q Indexer – for scanning workflows this Xerox software enables users who use the integrated B/W scanner to manage where to print documents and on what device. It allows B/W scans to be redirected to network connected printers for accurate reproduction and control over scaling and copy count, the Q Indexer will provide a archiving resource to manage the paper based documents that are scanned to digital files.

• An optional compact online folder that automates the folding process while the solution scans and copies.
