LEC-330 LED-UV Inkjet Printer/Cutter
Roland DGA Corp. has introduced the VersaUV LEC-330 30-inch roll-to-roll LED-UV inkjet printer/cutter.
Roland DGA Corp. (Booth 4274) has introduced the VersaUV LEC-330 30-inch roll-to-roll LED-UV inkjet printer/cutter.
The VersaUV series is the an LED-UV inkjet printer/cutter line that can print CMYK + White + Clear Coat and contour cut designs?all in one device through one seamless workflow. The LEC-330 is Roland's newest VersaUV model, joining the original 30-inch LEC-300.
The VersaUV LEC-330 prints on an unprecedented range of substrates including metallic surfaces for labels, decals, POP displays and posters and semi-rigid sheet stocks such as card stocks for folding cartons and thicker polycarbonate sheets for membrane switch applications. It also prints on offset paper stock, BOPP, PE and PET film for highly accurate proofs, prototypes and comps. The LEC-330 can be used to create original patterns and 3D domed corporate logos directly onto synthetic and natural leathers. Other applications include interior décor items such as customized window coverings and tapestries.
The LEC-330 is a versatile pre-press and proofing device that can save commercial printers the many costs associated with press downtime. VersaUV shops can also eliminate outsourcing for short production runs for customized graphics and wraps of virtually any shape, size and texture.

The LEC-330 has six high precision print heads for a maximum print speed of up to 101 sqft/hr. An Intelligent Ink Circulation System optimizes ink usage and minimizes waste. The built-in ventilation hood supports third party air filtration systems and enables printing on both flexible and semi-rigid sheet stocks.
ECO-UV ink adheres to a wide range of treated and untreated substrates with exceptional color gamut. Instant-drying and flexible, ECO-UV ink produces prints that require no degassing and can be stretched and applied around curved surfaces and edges without cracking.
The low heat UV LED lamps allow printing on heat-sensitive media such as shrink wrap, pressure sensitive media and paper stocks with no risk of damaging the substrate. The LEC-330 can create original patterns and 3D domed corporate logos directly onto synthetic and natural leathers and can customize window coverings, tapestries and other interior décor items as well.

VersaWorks 3.2 RIP software was developed by Roland engineers for the company's wide-format inkjet devices. Based on the latest Abobe CPSI engine (3018), VersaWorks is now faster and more precise than ever before and features advanced print server functions allowing users to manage up to four Roland inkjet devices simultaneously. The VersaWorks PerfCut function enables users to produce precision perforated cut lines. VersaWorks also allows users to select either conventional dual-pass or single-pass print modes for white ink applications.
VersaWorks features include proven productivity tools such as the Roland Color System for easy, precise spot color matching, the Max Impact Preset for richer color contrast, and Variable Data Printing. Other VersaWorks features include embedded ICC profile support, ink level adjustment tools, software proofing capabilities and advanced cropping, tiling and nesting options. VersaWorks also estimates the ink usage and print time for each graphic produced. VersaWorks supports Windows 2000/XP and Vista.
The VersaUV LEC-330 is priced at $59,995 and available through Authorized Roland Dealers.
