Binick Imaging Drives Post-Pandemic Growth with Double Investment from HP

Florida-based large-format print business Binick Imaging has invested in new HP Stitch S1000 and HP Latex R2000 printers to support its post-pandemic growth plans, with the company aiming to increase revenue by 300% this fiscal year.

Located in Miami, Binick Imaging is a family-owned business launched by husband-and-wife team Bianca and Nick Castillo from their garage nine years ago. Now, the company has grown to become a multi-service print provider, operating out of a 10,000 square foot facility with 10 employees, providing services to markets including retail, events, trade shows, schools, hospitals, malls and galleries.

Like tens of thousands of other print businesses around the world, Binick Imaging was hit hard by the pandemic. However, Bianca and Nick used this time to plan ahead, looking at ways to grow the business and protect its future in the long term.

After printing roll-to-roll output for nearly a decade, Bianca and Nick decided to expand into the textile and direct print markets to pursue different niches and industries.

Binick Imaging is a long-standing customer of HP technology, with its current print arsenal also including an HP Latex 700W printer, an HP Latex 3000 printer and an HP Latex 3600 printer. This confidence in HP technology led to the investment in a new HP Stitch S1000 fabric and textile dye sublimation printer, which was purchased directly from HP and installed in January this year.

Sustainability proved to be one of the main talking points for Binick Imaging, with the idea to target customers with similar, sustainable values and those seeking to improve their environmental credentials. As such, the couple opted for a HP Latex R2000 flatbed printer, which, purchased from approved HP dealer Grimco and installed in May 2022, offers a host of environmental benefits, primarily through its use of water-based inks.

Though the two printers have only been in place a matter of months, Nick Castillo, Chief Executive Officer of Binick Imaging, said the company has already felt the benefits of the double investment, with the business having grown its client base and staff headcount as a direct result.

“The two new printers from HP provide a strong return on investment for the company and have opened many new doors for growth,” Nick says. “We have scaled our business 50% in the last three months since the purchase of the first HP printer and we are forecasting our revenue to grow 300% this fiscal year with the addition of the HP R2000. We have also hired five new employees in the last six months.”

Nick also highlighted Binick Imaging’s focus on sustainability as part of its future growth plans, saying that this commitment has helped it secure valuable new work in recent months and will form a key part of its business strategy for years to come.

“Our sustainability campaigns, which we market to our client base, have helped us to reach markets that we didn’t consider in the past,” Nick says. “Sustainable printing is a game changer from a corporate standpoint and has helped to scale our company.

“Water-based inks, recyclable and non-PVC materials are the future of large-format print; they should be considered in every print program to improve safer and healthier practices for both businesses and the environment.”
