Jay (Jugnu) Shah, known as a print super hero amongst family and friends is celebrating many milestones in 2019. The year marks a decade since Jay’s Chicago-based company, Precise Digital Printing incorporated, as well as 4 decades of his existence on Earth. There cannot be a more fitting time to commemorate his accomplishments!
Lacking print industry knowledge, Jay started his business from scratch, without inheritance, without seeking investors, with only one printer, one used desk, and a leased industrial unit with limited front office and warehouse space. After 10 years of risk taking, nail biting, company making, he believes it was all worth it.
Since 2008, Jay has exponentially grown his business, which has allowed for a recent purchase of a 25,000 sq ft facility in Bensenville, IL, 40+ employees, and state of the art printers and finishing equipment. He specializes in custom wholesale large format, digital printing as well as custom corrugate products. Jay takes pride in his relationships with his clients and suppliers. And he also prides himself in having some of the most advanced equipment on the market today.
As I’ve been alongside Jay through this journey, I have taught him patience and he has taught me to be empathetic, strong, confident, giving, proactive, and above all happy. Our lives are always a work in progress, but with these traits the world is our oyster. Jay credits his late Grandfather, who was also a successful businessman in India, for exemplifying the importance of being trustworthy, honest, loyal, and hardworking. He also credits his parents and sister who left their families in early 70’s and migrated to the U.S. from India. Lastly, his amazing team who are really the best strength at Precise Digital Printing.
A keen sports fan, loving husband of almost 14 years, devoted father of two daughters and the caretaker of a pet tortoise named Peek-a-boo - Jay has a lot to be proud of. Congrats Jay, on a decade in the books, and a very Happy 40th birthday!
