Orange Park Medical Center in Orange Park, Fla., incorporates a live RSS feed on its LED signage that provides current wait times for its emergency room, enabling the health center to increase visibility while enhancing its brand. This creative use of LED signage earned Spectrum Signs and Graphics, Inc. of Jacksonville, Fla., designer of the sign, the Grand Prize in the 2015 Watchfire LED Sign Awards.

Watchfire Signs established the awards program in 2014 to recognize Watchfire dealer partners who best showcase the capabilities of outdoor digital advertising. The award recognizes on-premise signs designed and built in 2014 that display excellence in design, legibility of digital messages and advertising effectiveness.

Spectrum Signs and Graphics’ award winning sign at Orange Park Medical Center includes a Watchfire 16mm digital display with a full color screen measuring 8’ tall by 11’ wide. The overall sign is a 22’ tall by 13’ wide aluminum structure featuring a double-faced UL pylon with ID panels and metallic silver paint with routed copy that is backed with white-plex and translucent vinyl. The display contains illuminated LED lettering, a top arched piece and painted orange reveals.

“As the medium of digital advertising has advanced, the uses of creative and dynamic content continue to emerge and improve, so it was important for us to recognize dealer partners who focus on promoting the strengths of digital advertising,” said David Warns, Watchfire’s vice president of On-Premise Sales. “Digital signs of all sizes bring timely, relevant advertising to mass audiences while still maintaining the artistry that has been a hallmark of sign dealerships for decades. We want to call attention to those who are doing it best, and we congratulate Spectrum Signs and Graphics and all of this year’s winners.”
