A new industrial building is about to go up on the Schützenwiese in Kriessern, just seven kilometres distant from Widnau in Switzerland. Construction should be completed by autumn 2014, and then it will be the new home of swissQprint, manufacturer of inkjet large format printers.
swissQprint’s existing site in Widnau is fast becoming cramped for space and capacity. To pave the way for future growth, the company is to move into new premises that will shortly be built right next to the A13 highway exit at Kriessern. If all goes according to plan, relocation will take place in autumn 2014. The new production area will be three times its present size, allowing increased output capacity of 250 inkjet printers a year. Not only that, it will all be on just one level, greatly simplifying the logistics process. swissQprint at present ships 100 machines a year, with operations scattered across four floors.
40 employees at swissQprint are looking forward to this new infrastructure. The building’s developer, KMU-Holding Rheintal Assets AG, has stated that the new complex will accommodate more than 500 workplaces. swissQprint’s future neighbours will include Dietsche Montage Profis (on-site installations) and Menzi Muck, a manufacturer of excavators.
