Serendipity Software Pty Ltd. has implemented the new Eizo ColorEdge CG275W into their newest version of Veripress on-press softproofing solution.

Veripress features calibration and verification tools to ensure accurate color reproduction not only of process colors but also verified spot colors, colors outside the regular gamut and fluorescent colors. An integrated display application allows quick calibration of the proofing display using the built-in sensor.

Veripress includes a system for creating color verification charts generated from press ICC profiles or imported from text or CGATS files. Users can define the number of patches making up the chart; color, paper and gray balance patch types; and set maximum, average and standard Δe (CIE76, CIE94, CIE2000), ΔH and ΔC tolerances. The Displays application then verifies the color performance of the monitor directly against the target press standard values and displays the results on screen via the built-in Calcheck application. This guarantees a display certified by Veripress is capable of reproducing the full gamut of the target printing process, be it ISO 12647-7, GRACol, a multi-color or other custom process.

“Veripress uses generic RIP files thus ensuring accurate color reproduction throughout the whole verification and printing process whereby remote proofing is just one of the options. Printers and print clients can thus be ensured that the separations and color displayed on their screens will show exactly the colors that will be printed on their presses”, explains Peter Skarpatis from Serendipity Software. “Operators can move plates around and assemble them in right order with transparency effect if required. We are very happy to have implemented this solution resulting in flexo and packaging printers to be able to take advantage of Eizo’s wide color gamut.”

In addition, the newly integrated solution features a built-in driver for the swing arm.

Veripress press configurations can define the white point of the paper being used, entered manually, based on the matched ICC profile, or by measuring the substrate with a supported Spectrophotometer. The paper's show-through properties can be defined, including a dot gain curve for the back page; a maximum ink weight set along with horizontal and vertical stretch factor.
