New Vice-President of Sales & Service at Agfa Graphics North America

Agfa Graphics has announced that Ruben Silva, previously managing director, Agfa Graphics, Canada, has been promoted to Vice-President of Sales & Service at Agfa Graphics North America. Silva, who joined Agfa in March 2006, had been responsible for overseeing all sales and marketing activities in Canada, including the development and implementation of programs and initiatives designed to meet the needs of customers in the Canadian provinces.

"Ruben has an impressive background in developing new opportunities for sales growth in many areas of the professional graphic communications industry, as well as a deep understanding of the elements that drive the print business. He is a valued member of the team," said Peter Wilkens, President, Agfa Graphics, North America.

Silva has more than 20 years of experience in the graphic arts industry. Prior to joining Agfa, he held both technical and sales management positions at Presstek Canada, AB Dick, Itek Graphics and Gestetner. His areas of responsibility have included national supply and hardware sales and national sales and marketing.

During Silva's tenure at the helm of Agfa Graphics, Canada, the company experienced tremendous success, particularly in the expansion of Agfa's industry-leading thermal printing plates. Both the chemistry-free :Azura TS and low-chemistry :Amigo plates have helped grow Agfa's CtP solutions in Canada. Growth in inkjet and software solutions also steadily expanded under his leadership.
