Application Spotlight: A Complete Communications Solution

“Our company is comprised of two divisions, DGI Invisuals, a large format printer offering state of the art print technology and custom signage solutions, and DGI Technologies, an enterprise solutions division offering high tech visual communications including: A/V solutions, Digital Signage and Structured Wiring,” explained Glen Fairbanks, VP of operations, DGI Invisuals. “Recently a global power generation firm turned to DGI for recommendations in updating their audio visual needs and adding environmental graphics to glass paneled conference and boardroom walls. This project perfectly showcased the skills and expertise within our organization as well as the spotlighting our vision of a complete communications company.”

The goal for the graphics was to offer a product that would provide privacy while still allowing light to filter into the specified areas. The company also wanted to introduce customized imagery to complement the environments.

“Our in-house designers worked with the client on design concepts and after several rounds of designs as well as multiple material tests our team was able to create a product which lent itself to the muted and diffused look the client wanted,” said Fairbanks. The end result was a direct print to 3M Dusted Crystal vinyl which was then installed.

The DGI Technologies division was commissioned to design and build an audio visual solution for their corporate office. “We defined the client’s A/V needs and implemented 12 conference rooms each with integrated audio conferencing, video conferencing systems, and presentation technologies. Some rooms have dual 65-inch displays for video conferencing requirements, while others have large ceiling recessed projection screens and high luminous projectors for presentations. Three screens were deployed in common areas with digital signage and cable TV. This is the exact type of project that separates us from many other members of our industry. We are a multifaceted organization that can handle very simple print jobs to complex projects that involve printing, lighting, electronics and wiring to make it all happen,” said Fairbanks.
