Watkiss Automation is showing an expanded range of booklet making solutions at Drupa 2016 on stand 6/C41.
Watkiss Automation Ltd is a leading manufacturer and supplier of print finishing equipment, offering a range of solutions to help customers optimize quality, profitability and productivity in their print finishing operations; with a focus on long-term reliability and robust performance. At Drupa 2016, Watkiss will show an expanded range of booklet making solutions, with a new addition to the Watkiss PowerSquare range.
“The PowerSquare is a proven, high-end and extremely capable booklet maker. It uses our patented fold-and-form technology to produce the square spine at the same time as folding – which results in a sharper, better quality finish,” explains Watkiss sales director Paul Attew. “With our new PowerSquare 160, we can make this technology available to a much wider range of customers; and connect to a wider range of digital print engines.”
Highlights of the Watkiss Drupa programme include:
- Watkiss PowerSquare 224 - a streamlined booklet making system for high production environments that produces SquareBack books up to 224 pages thick. It features dynamic automatic adjustment for page count, whereby the stitching, folding and forming are all optimised to produce perfect book quality regardless of whether the book has 8 pages or 224 pages. A nearline solution with sheet feeder, plus a hand-feed model, will be on show on the Watkiss stand. Inline models can be seen on Canon, Konica Minolta and Ricoh stands.
- New Watkiss PowerSquare 160 – a new open-architecture, complete booklet making system that staples, folds, forms and trims in a single pass to produce added value SquareBack books. Featuring JDF/JMF compatibility, the PowerSquare 160 will be available as inline and offline solutions. The modular system can include up to three suction-fed sheet feeders and, in inline configurations, features dual-mode functionality for flexible workflows.
- Watkiss BookMaster Pro30 – to meet the ever increasing demand for short-run hand-fed booklet making, Watkiss are showing the BookMaster Pro 30 which produces booklets up to 120 pages. It features an android based touch-screen user interface to reduce and simplify make ready time and an increased stapling capacity.
- Watkiss SpineMaster - post-processes traditional stitch-fold booklets and transforms them into SquareBack book. These are flat and easy to pack, stack and handle. There is no risk of loose pages - you can even print on the spine. The SpineMaster connects online to most booklet makers and it can also be used as a stand-alone machine.
Watkiss Automation is committed to providing a range of practical and cost effective solutions for all print finishing environments. Leading technology and innovation enables printers to finish their output on-demand, on-time and on-budget.
