Twelve Substrates, Five Print Platforms

From substrate to substrate, and printer to printer, images will differ depending on how you mix the two. At the Substrate Solutions Center in xpedx (Booth 3601), show attendees can see how 12 different sheets perform on five digital printers in a side by side comparison.
“Every project has a different, desired outcome, so it’s important to have an understanding about what you can expect when selecting substrates. Our goal is not to show that one sheet, or one printer, outperforms any other – just that the substrates selected will exhibit design-impacting differences that need to be considered,” says Laura McCaig, digital paper marketing manager, xpedx.
Show attendees can view a variety of substrates – varying in weight and finish, including text and cover as well as vinyl, polyester and other synthetics – that have been printed on either a HP Indigo 5500, Konica Minolta bizhub PRESS C8000, Canon ImagePRESS C7000VP, Xerox iGEN3, or Kodak Nexpress 2100.
“The images on each sheet are identical, so the differences really pop from product to product,” McCaig says.
xpedx will also showcase print samples and swatches for their new UV, solvent and aqueous wide format ink jet substrate lines, and their newly redesigned digital pressure sensitive line, Showcase Digital.
