Printcrafters Equipment to be Auctioned Off in Canada
Trio of Speedmaster Presses Among Featured Items in Live Webcast Auction on June 23; prepress and bindery equipment, too.
Pressroom, bindery, prepress and other printing equipment and supplies will be available for sale during a live Webcast auction beginning at 10 a.m. (EDT) Thursday, June 23, hosted by Great American Group, LLC (OTCBB: GAMR), a leading provider of asset disposition, valuation and appraisal services.
Great American Group, in a joint venture with Danbury Sales of Toronto, was appointed to conduct the auction by Ernst & Young, which was appointed as the receiver for Printcrafters, Inc. of Canada -- a major offset printer based in Winnipeg, Manitoba that closed its doors on April 29.
"We are handling the disposition of all the print equipment associated with Printcrafters closing plant in Winnipeg, and the sale will also include all support and ancillary equipment as well." said Paul Brown, Great American Group Vice President for its Wholesale & Industrial Division. "One of the most featured items we have is a Heidelberg 10-color Speedmaster Press. They don't come up very often at auction."
Other items up for auction include six-color and five-color Heidelberg Speedmaster Presses, a Muller Martini Monstar Perfect Binder, a laminator, folding machines, paper cutters, prepress equipment-along with forklifts, strapping machines, tables and other plant equipment. The equipment can be inspected at 78 Hutchings St., Winnipeg, Manitoba, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, or from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. June 23 just prior to the auction.
The Printcrafters Group of Companies, a commercial printing operation that also produced books and periodicals, embarked on an aggressive merger program during the last decade - acquiring Westcan Printing Group, Dave's Quick Print, Kildonan Printing and Globally Boundless - before it entered receivership in early April.
