Ultimate Bindery v.3

Ultimate Bindery 3.0 from Ultimate Technographics (Booth 4844) is a standalone software solution designed to take an open approach to finishing automation. It operates as an agent between the jobs in prepress and the post-press finishing equipment designated to produce the final product: such as books, brochures, cards, calendars, etc. Ultimate Bindery is a hub of knowledge of different finishing devices from several manufacturers operating as a central location to validate that each job is built respecting the capabilities and constraints of the designated finishing equipment. Ultimate Bindery produces the JDF finishing job ticket automatically with accuracy leaving no room for errors, thus eliminating the bottleneck in the bindery department.

Ultimate Bindery automates in-line and near-line finishing equipment and integrates seamlessly within existing PDF workflows, just like any other process. In an in-line configuration with Xerox FreeFlow or EFI Fiery, Ultimate Bindery synchronizes the jobs on the print server coordinating the various device status communications with the finishing equipment via JMF. Ultimate Bindery version 3.0 offers new capabilities of combining a main device with optional finishing attachments such as a booklet maker with a creasing module and other features for the sheet level integrity needed in dual mode when using the Bourg Sheet Feeder. Ultimate Bindery 3.0 is introduced as an OEM version that is fully integrated within the HP SmartStream Print server enabling the definition of a finishing plan at the DFE. It introduces the concept of direct connectivity with finishing vendors for off-line automated finishing, integrating vendor’s JDF controllers as part of the solution.
