The Techkon USA SpectroDrive Chosen as the Scanning Instrumentation of Choice For The Prolific Group’s Multi-Press Closed-Loop Installation

Techkon USA announces that SpectroDrive, along with Techkon’s Expresso software, has been selected by The Prolific Group of Graphics Arts Companies in Winnipeg, Canada to support their scanning needs as part of a major, multi-press installation of Digital Information’s InkZone ink-presets and closed-loop solutions. This installation represents a significant investment by Prolific in pressroom automation technology designed to decrease waste and increase efficiency.  The Prolific Group installed the InkZone Closed Loop System in conjunction with the SpectroDrive on five presses from 29” to 40” of various vintages. 

The SpectroDrive, with its automatic color and density measurement capabilities, substantially increases press productivity by ensuring consistent print-to-print color accuracy throughout the press run.  The motorized measurement system scans the complete color bar on a printed sheet within seconds and simultaneously sends the spectral measurement data wirelessly to InkZone where all relevant information for controlling the printing press is displayed.
