Enhance Your Finishing with Therm-O-Type

Therm-O-Type (Booth 2535) is introducing two new products as well as demonstrating select models from its line of product enhancement and finishing equipment.

The new NSF Ultra is a high speed platen press designed to flat foil stamp, blind/foil emboss, and die cut/score/perforate. The Ultra is the largest platen press manufactured by Therm-O-Type, and can run sheets up to 23.5x29 inches with a maximum impression area of 16.5x23.13 inches. This format is ideal for many popular digital and offset sheet sizes.

A wide range of products can be enhanced and finished using the Ultra including pocket/presentation folders and all kinds of packaging.

A new waste stripping attachment will be running inline with a NSF Elite platen press during the show. This attachment can be installed on all new or used Elite presses. The combination of very fast die cut/score/perf setup on the Elite, and the ability to automatically strip die cut products from waste, provides an unmatched level of efficiency for Therm-O-Type customers.

The waste stripping attachment is fully integrated to the Elite with attachment timing, jam detect/interrupt, and remote press start/stop and feeder controls.

Therm-O-Type will also be demonstrating the RAS-mc right angle slitter, the RDC-Flex rotary die cutter, the Zip-A3, CSCL and TS2L cutter/slitter/creasers, and FT-10 and Foil-Tech foil fusing models.

The RDC-Flex rotary die cutter has been specifically designed for fast, easy and accurate format changeover. Flexible die cutting dies are mounted to the magnetic cylinder using registration pins. Vertical and horizontal registration information can be stored and retrieved for repeat orders. Quick change inline stripping assemblies can be pre-set for different product formats. The combination of these features allow customers to setup repeat orders in less than two or three minutes, without tools.

The RAS-mc is the only right angle slitter that combines high speed productivity with product size flexibility. The RAS-mc can be equipped with quick change cassettes with fixed blade spacing, or with computer controlled auto-adjust slitting cassettes. The RAS-mc features a high capacity offset press style suction feeder, 14” x 20” maximum sheet size, alignment tables with micro registration adjustment, centerline paper path on the main and right angle sections, delivery conveyor and fully integrated electronic controls.

The Zip-TS2L is still our most popular cutter/slitter/creaser style finishing machine. The Zip-TS2L provides a wide range of unique features and capabilities that are not available on any competitive model. In addition to crosscutting, cross creasing and inline slitting, scoring, perforating and semi-slitting, the TS2L can also die cut (including round corners), blind emboss, hole punch, up and down cross crease in one pass, bindery punch, strike vertical and horizontal slit and perforate. The TS2L also offers a long delivery conveyor with a batch/surge delivery system.

While the individual finishing capabilities of the Zip-TS2L are impressive, it’s the ability to combine multiple finishing operations in a single pass are what really set the TS2L apart. Equipped with the T1 multi-tool option, the TS2L can perform three different cross sheet tooling functions (as well as crosscutting and inline slitting/scoring/semi-slitting/perforating) in a single pass through the machine.
