BÖWE SYSTEC GmbH and Siemens Mobility to Collaborate on Mail Sorting Systems
Cooperation combines individual strengths.
Augsburg-based BÖWE SYSTEC GmbH and Siemens are to collaborate on sorting systems for the private mail service sector. This cooperation combines the best of both worlds: Siemens is set to contribute its high-performance sorting machines and outstanding OCR solutions, while BÖWE SYSTEC provides a very flexible software solution and an extremely well developed sales and service network.
Siemens Mobility, Infrastructure Logistics, in Constance leads the world in the field of postal automation and sorting solutions. Over 23,000 of this market leader’s systems have been installed around the globe in the state sector alone. BÖWE SYSTEC GmbH, on the other hand, is the leading provider of sorting solutions for the private sector and accordingly boasts the flexible software solutions required in this field, as well as a dense sales and service network in the private markets of Europe and Japan. By combining their individual strengths, the two companies can offer the market the best sorting solutions in every respect. “Cooperation with BÖWE SYSTEC opens up new sales channels for us in the private mail service provider sector,” explains Dr. Stefan Keh, CEO of the Infrastructure Logistics Division of Siemens. “What’s more, thanks to the BÖWE SYSTEC software, our systems can be geared precisely to the extremely varied needs of different private mail service providers.” Heiner Kudrus, CEO of BÖWE SYSTEC GmbH, adds: “Our customers have to keep on increasing their productivity if they are to satisfy the growing demands of the market. In order to do so, they need the best hardware available on the market, plus the strongest OCR engine around – and Siemens has both. These can push process costs down to a new level.”
Premiere at POST-EXPO
In BÖWE SYSTEC and Siemens, two companies headquartered in Europe which know the exact requirements of their customers – also operating in the European market – have entered into a collaboration aimed at providing these customers with the optimum mail sorting solutions for their needs: the best hardware and software, as well as the best service. BÖWE SYSTEC is set to unveil the first result of this cooperation at stand 7068, hall 1 of the POST-EXPO fair in Stuttgart between 27 and 29 September 2011. In addition to an extremely high operative throughput rate of over 45,000 mailpieces per hour, the sorting machine on show at the fair boasts flexible mailpiece sorting of formats ranging from postcard all the way to DIN C4. It can also identify handwriting at a very high reading rate thanks to OCR. The system’s modular hardware and software concept allows it to be tailored precisely to the individual needs of every customer.
