More than ten years ago, Memjet created a revolutionary inkjet printhead technology with unmatched resolution. Since then, dozens of OEM partners have employed this aqueous, dye-based, single-pass digital print system called VersaPass to create numerous applications used in a variety of markets from label printers to mail houses and commercial printers.

At PRINT 17, Memjet will debut its next-generation print technology, DuraLink. The quality, flexibility, and affordability of this new pigment-based print technology, combined with the creativity and market knowledge of Memjet OEM partners, empower the development of a new breed of affordable inkjet solutions that meets the specific demands of high-volume printing markets, including commercial printing, packaging, and industrial printing.

At the heart of DuraLink is a new long-life printhead. Unlike most printheads on the market today, DuraLink integrates redundancy at the nozzle level. With 5x nozzle-level redundancy, printers no longer need to take on the cost and complexity of adding additional printbars or implementing costly image-quality monitoring systems.

Moreover, the 5x nozzle-level redundancy in DuraLink means that the printhead does not need to be replaced as often. These long-life printheads require less maintenance and enable longer print runs.

The nozzle redundancy of DuraLink brings the value of Memjet’s patented printing system to pigment-based inks, resulting in a more consistent image quality while enabling stunning print quality at 1600 x 1585 dpi. This system ensures a quality level that is hard to match with other pigment-based solutions.

DuraLink’s pigment-based printing platform also lets providers achieve the durability level needed for various applications in commercial printing, packaging, and industrial printing.

DuraLink includes a high level of modularity and flexibility. OEM partners can build customized presses that offer print widths from 8.5 inches up to 100 inches, speeds up to 200 meters per minute (656 fpm), one to eight colors simplex or duplex, and offset-like print quality up to 1600 x 1585 dpi.

DuraLink has a lower thermal printhead cost than other printhead technologies. Moreover, all the modules needed to build a printer are available. As a result, OEM partners can easily and affordably build powerful inkjet solutions designed to meet the needs of their specific markets.
