Advance Central Services Michigan Turns to manroland web systems to Drive Competiveness in Commercial Print

Leading Michigan company will achieve significant cost savings

To help drive its competiveness in commercial print, Advance Central Services Michigan is moving forward with a web-width reduction project on the manroland GEOMAN press currently in operation in its Walker Production Facility, near Grand Rapids, Michigan. The company will reduce the web-width on the press from 47 inches to 43 inches. The project is scheduled for completion in Q3 of 2014.

manroland web systems’ project management, technical knowledge and logistics experience will be utilized throughout the project to complete the web width reduction, with careful attention paid to not interrupting production. The team from manroland web systems, in partnership with Advance Central Services Michigan’s own mechanics, will perform the necessary changes to the press in less than five weeks.

In addition to serving commercial print customers, Advance Central Services Michigan provides key support functions for MLive Media Group, including production, distribution, purchasing, accounting, technology and human resources. The company prints The Grand Rapids Press at its Walker Production Facility, along with several other titles, including the Kalamazoo Gazette and The Muskegon Chronicle. The company also has production facilities in Bay City, Michigan and Ann Arbor, MI.
