Xerox is Market Leader for Managed Print Services
The IDC report projects the industry will grow at an annual rate of 11.7 percent, and ranks Xerox in the top spot for both MPS and BPS offerings.
Xerox continues to lead in global market share for managed print services (MPS) and basic print services, according to IDC’s Worldwide and U.S. Managed Print Services and Basic Print Services (BPS) 2012-2015 Forecast and Analysis report.
The IDC report projects the industry will grow at an annual rate of 11.7 percent, and ranks Xerox in the top spot for both MPS and BPS offerings.
IDC defines BPS as businesses having a multi-year contract with a third-party to manage a group or fleet of printers and/or multifunction peripherals (MFPs) – including consolidating billing and usage monitoring, ink/toner management, and maintenance and repairs. MPS offerings add an up-front assessment of the print environment and ongoing analysis, reporting and proactive management toward contract goals.
“Xerox holds the lead in global market share for both MPS and BPS, with different offers tailored to different sized businesses,” said Holly Muscolino, research director at IDC. “As the industry expands into the SMB market, consistent global delivery capabilities are key differentiators for Xerox, and they continue to build out their infrastructure for global support, including support for indirect channel partners.”
For example, small and mid-sized businesses can reduce costs and maximize productivity with Xerox Print Services and Xerox Partner Print Services – offering the tools, support, security and accredited processes that have helped corporations save millions. As the market leader, Xerox is also into second and third generation MPS – large enterprises that originally signed on to take cost out of the print environment are building on those results, co-innovating and changing the way they work to drive additional cost savings and efficiency.
“There’s a lot of hype about MPS, but you don’t just buy MPS, you need a strategy to achieve a successful outcome,” said Andrew Morrison, senior vice president, Xerox Managed Print Services Business Group. “We’re helping customers of all sizes embrace the transition to digital, and we’ll continue to see a move towards more integrated workflow solutions that blur the lines between MPS and basic business process outsourcing in the future.”
As the worldwide market leader in MPS, Xerox is working with businesses of all sizes to simplify the way work gets done – so employees spend less time managing documents, and more time focused on their core business. Xerox integrates MPS into the IT infrastructure to help intelligently organize information – from both paper and electronic sources. The company was positioned by Gartner, Inc., in the Leaders Quadrant in the 2011 Magic Quadrant for Managed Print Services Worldwide2 and named the worldwide market share leader3. Additionally, Xerox was recognized as a leader in IDC’s 2011 MPS MarketScape report4.
