Curry Printing Welcomes New Owners

Kaye Black is pleased to announce that she has sold Curry Printing to Chuck and Marianne Lobaugh, formerly of Troy, Ohio. Black founded Curry Printing in 1978 and has always been active in the Hilton Head Island community, chairing several non-profit boards, including The Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, United Way, and the local Chamber of Commerce.

“Curry Printing’s strength has been our commitment to our community, our customers and our environment,” Black said. “I’m confident that I have found the right couple to take our award-winning company to the next level.”

Curry Printing and Black have a long history of helping clients market their products, services, events and ideas, and have received the National Quick Printer of the year award, as well as Hilton Head Island’s Small Business of the Year. Black has been recognized for her community service and continues to serve in a variety of capacities, including recently co-chairing the Hilton Head Island United Way campaign with her husband Joe. She is a past recipient of the Chamber of Commerce Alice Glenn Doughtie Citizen of the Year award and an elder at First Presbyterian Church.

The Lobaughs owned a successful printing company in Ohio prior to moving to Florida to join a newspaper and publishing company. “We missed being part of a small business community,” Chuck Lobaugh said of the decision to return to the printing industry. “We loved our Ohio printing business and enjoyed helping organizations and businesses grow and prosper through marketing campaigns tied to distinctively designed printing and promotional pieces.”

“We were very impressed with the quality of equipment, Kaye’s reputation in the community and the quantity and quality of local small businesses,” Marianne Lobaugh said. “This seems like both a wonderful place to live and develop a business.”

The state-of-the-art production facility is located at 80 Capital Drive off Marshland Road in Hilton Head Island. The company’s capabilities include full color digital and offset printing, folding, binding and booklet making. “The fact that the printing business today is so technology driven is what keeps it exciting,” Chuck Lobaugh said.

Chuck Lobaugh is a graduate of Miami University, Oxford, Ohio with a degree in business marketing. Marianne Lobaugh is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in commercial photography. Both have extensive printing, publishing, design, technology and business marketing experience.

Chuck and Marianne have three daughters enrolled in the Hilton Head Island schools. “Our oldest is on the girls’ varsity basketball team and our two younger daughters are at the Creative Arts School. We love it here and are looking forward to becoming involved in the community,” Chuck Lobaugh said.
