Canon Solutions America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc. is showcasing its unique inkjet printing capabilities at the Canon U.S.A. booth (613), during GRAPH EXPO. Applications across direct mail, transactional, commercial, and book segments will demonstrate the power of the paper partnerships Canon Solutions America has and present some of the papers included in its Inkjet Media Catalog released earlier this year.

The wide variety of high-speed inkjet paper choices from Canon Solutions America are a result of its partnerships with paper mills and close collaboration to meet the demand for inkjet-printed books, direct mail, commercial, transactional, and promotional materials. The Canon Solutions America media lab, located in Boca Raton, Florida, works with paper partners to test a wide variety of media and optimize production performance. The result: customers now have access to hundreds of stocks from over 30 paper mills.

“The strong relationships we’ve built with our paper partners allow us to develop color profiles that streamline production and allow our customers to get the best quality output from their presses,” says Francis McMahon, vice president, Marketing, Production Print Solutions division of Canon Solutions America. “By bringing these optimized papers into the booth at GRAPH EXPO, we’re giving our paper partners a wide audience to demonstrate just how well they perform in real-life applications on the Océ brand of high-speed inkjet digital presses.”

Visitors can watch a total of seven production inkjet applications being printed in the Canon U.S.A. booth throughout the four-day event. Applications range from insurance explanation of benefits (EOBs) to self-mailers and trade books printed with pigment inks.

  • Monday is transactional print day with examples of an EOB and utility bill, both printed on Domtar VividJet, available from Enterprise Group, a Domtar business. The bright, uncoated paper offers a special surface treatment that enhances print quality and improves optical density for pigment inks.
  • Tuesday focuses on books, with the young adult trade book “After the Curtain Falls,” printed on Resolute Ecopaque Laser, and “Wacky Waddles,” a children’s book printed on International Paper’s Accent® Opaque with ImageLok®.
  • Wednesday, the final day of the show, will feature direct mail applications, including two self-mailers with dynamic perforation, both printed on Mitsubishi DL 1984.

Booth visitors will also be able to see, touch, and take home preprinted samples of three more applications from paper companies that partner with Canon Solutions America. They include a rain forest book and calendar printed with dye inks on Cham Promo Print D, as well as a folded mailer Canon Solutions America used in its own marketing, printed on Glatfelter Pixelle Duo Matte.
