At GRAPH EXPO, HP (Booth 1227) announced that Albany, NY-based Fort Orange Press has invested in HP Hiflex MIS and Web-to-Print solutions to improve quality and efficiency.

The 107 year old printer, also a 3rd generation family run business, specializes in offset and digital production. They produce a wide array of finished printed material for colleges and universities, direct business to business needs and applications, design and advertising agencies, non-profits and government institutions. With a footprint covering territory from New York City to Boston and as far north as Canada, Fort Orange Press continues to grow with a reputation as a leading provider of quality and efficiency.

“We were really impressed with the basic functionality of the product,” said Robert Witko, president, Fort Orange Press. “We were very keen on the direct integration with our prepress workflow, through Agfa Apogee, directly into the HP Hiflex MIS. The other aspect of the system that HP Hiflex offers that we felt was better than anything else on the market was the storefront Web-to-Print functionality, and its ability to deliver jobs directly into the MIS.”

HP Hiflex also offers MIS and Web-to-Print solutions on a cloud platform, enabling users to access the system from anywhere with an internet connection.

“Bringing the MIS to a cloud platform left us really intrigued. Freedom to access the HP Hiflex CRM remotely will be pivotal, particularly to our sales team,” said Witko.”With the ability to create quotes on the fly, we can quickly respond to potential customers that might otherwise be lost.”

Fort Orange is committed to automation and has big plans with HP Hiflex MIS and Web-to-Print in their future.
