Holy Toledo! Metzgers Buys Another Mitsubishi Sheetfed

TJ Metzgers, Inc., Toledo, OH, has signed on the dotted line for a 40" Diamond 3000 sheetfed press from Mitsubishi (Booth 1261). The 4-color model, scheduled for delivery next month, features an aqueous coater and perfecting unit. “We still do a lot of two-over-two work for imprinting,” explained Joe Metzger, the second-generation owner of the family owned firm.

“If you’d have asked me six months ago if we’d be buying a new 40" printing press at GRAPH EXPO in October, I’d have said, ‘No way!’” adds Metzger. “But everything is growing suddenly! We have a 28-inch, 6-color Diamond 3000 [installed in 2006] that won’t match identically with the new, bigger press,” which is why the firm is looking at an improved workflow, Metzger says.
