At this year’s GRAPH EXPO, Duplo USA (Booth 2221) is set to exhibit a number of new and exciting finishing solutions – showcasing more capabilities than ever before, all in one booth!

Highlighted will be the new UD-300 Die Cutter. Efficient for short to medium runs, the UD-300 utilizes flexible dies, which are quick and cost-effective to manufacture, to convert a wide range of paper stock up to 14x20 inches in one pass. Multiple cuts, slits, slit-scores, perforations, and window punches of any shape can be combined into a single die and up to 3,000 sheets per minute can be processed. Visitors will have the opportunity to see the diversity of intricately-shaped stationery and packaging applications that can be produced on demand.

Digital color finishers

The successful DC-745 Slitter/Cutter/Creaser will be spotlighted again at Graph Expo demonstrating its newest capability – the strike-perforating module! The DC-745 is Duplo’s most powerful all-in-one finishing solution, offering greater speed, productivity and versatility. Performing up to 10 slits, 25 cuts, and 20 creases in one pass, this digital color finisher eliminates white borders and toner cracking on fold lines, producing professionally finished documents in a matter of minutes.

With the strike-perforating module, operators can specify where the wheels are to activate and de-activate. It can be combined with the cross-perforating module to produce “T” or “L” shape perforations in-line. Duplo’s complete Slitter/Cutter/Creaser line will be on display including the DC-645 and DC-615 models as well as the DC-445 Creaser.

Saddle stitching and bookletmaking systems

In the bookletmaking area, visitors can expect to see a full range of solutions to meet today’s digital printer demands including the recently-released DBMi Saddle System. First in its class to deliver letter landscape booklets, the DBMi Saddle System combines PC-based programming and intelligent feeding with state-of-the-art scoring and folding technology to produce thicker, flatter books up to 4,500 books an hour.

On exhibit for the first time will be the 350 Digital Booklet System, featuring the new DSF-2200 Sheet Feeder and the DSS-350 Square Spine module with the mid-range DBM-350 Bookletmaker. Feeding up to 200 sheets per minute, the DSF-2200 Sheet Feeder comes loaded with a range of high-end features including Duplo’s own belt suction feed system, front and side air separation, an anti-static device and ultrasonic double feed detection for enhanced feed reliability. It feeds increased paper sizes up to 14x20 inches (or 9.05x24 inches via optional extension tray kit) and offers a variety of options including a trail edge air kit, pre-loading kit, and barcode readers to read 1D and 2D barcodes.

Additionally, the DFS-3500 Full-Bleed Bookletmaking System, the 500Pro Digital Booklet System, configuring the DSF-5000 Sheet Feeder with the high-end DBM-500 Bookletmaker, as well as the 120C Booklet System, incorporating the DSC-10/20 Suction Collator with the entry-level DBM-120 Bookletmaker, will be on the show floor.

Perfect Binding Solutions

Making its U.S. debut will be the FKS PrintBind KB-4000 PUR Perfect Binder. The single-clamp KB-4000 combines heavy-duty milling and notching with the strong adhesiveness of both PUR and EVA hot melt side glues to produce high quality, perfect bound books up to 200 books per hour. Books are first applied with PUR along the spine then side-glued with the fast-drying EVA, enabling users to handle the book immediately. The KB-4000 also features a closed-tank system to prevent the emission of fumes. Other solutions on display will be the DB-280 and DPB-500 Perfect Binders.

Other products not to be missed are the Foldmaster Touchline CF375 high-speed creaser and folder as well as the new CP375 creasing and perforating unit.
