Tom Duchene Receives 2015 Soderstrom Award
Ten industry leaders inducted into Soderstrom Society honors group.
Tom Duchene, President, TDMS, Inc., Huntington Beach, CA, was honored by Epicomm (formerly AMSP/NAPL/NAQP) as recipient of the 55th annual Walter E. Soderstrom Award at the annual Soderstrom Awards Dinner on Saturday, Sept. 12. The gala event on the eve of GRAPH EXPO 2015 was held in downtown Chicago at the beautiful Metropolitan Club Oak Room on the 66th floor of the Willis Tower.
“We were very pleased to present this award to Tom Duchene,” said Ken Garner, President and Chief Executive Officer of Epicomm. “Tom’s commitment to our association and our industry is beyond comparison and he is very deserving of the Soderstrom Award, our highest honor for industry service.”
Duchene just completed service as Chairman of the Epicomm Board of Advisors and previously served as Chairman of the Association of Marketing Service Providers (AMSP) and its predecessor, the Mailing and Fulfillment Service Association (MFSA). He now serves as Epicomm’s Immediate Past Chairman. He became the first Chairman of Epicomm, created by the merger of the National Association for Printing Leadership, AMSP, and the National Association of Quick Printers in January 2014, and rebranded as Epicomm this year.
Duchene attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City and UCLA, and founded TDMS, Inc., a marketing services provider, in 2009. He serves on the Board of the Graphic Arts Show Company (GASC), is a long-time member of the Board of the Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters, Los Angeles, and is Immediate Past Chair of the Sparkling Angels Charities Board. He was inducted into the Soderstrom Society in 2014.

In addition to honoring the Soderstrom Award recipient, the Soderstrom Awards Dinner also celebrated induction of 10 industry leaders into the Epicomm Soderstrom Society. Named for Walter E. Soderstrom, a founder of NAPL, the Soderstrom Society is an honors organization that recognizes the contributions of industry leaders, including company owners, industry supplier executives, educators, journalists, and consultants. This year’s inductees represent a wide variety of industry segments, from equipment, materials, and services suppliers to printers, mailers, marketers, and the media.
