Allegra Network LLC, one of the world’s leading marketing, print, sign and graphic communications franchisors, announced Chairman Bill McIntyre’s retirement and a leadership transition to position the company for future growth and success.

McIntyre has played an integral role in the growth of the Allegra Network franchise system for the past 24 years. Joining the company in 1987 as senior vice president, he assumed the role of president and chief executive officer in 1991, which he held until 2007 when he was named chairman. With his decision to retire, McIntyre has been named chairman emeritus.

“It was nearly a quarter century ago when I took up my ‘temporary’ management position with American Speedy Printing Centers which today is Allegra Network,” said McIntyre. “The plan was to manage through a tough time and move on. Little did I know that the second act of my business career would be so fulfilling that I’d stay on to my retirement.”

The company is scheduled to celebrate McIntyre’s many accomplishments and contributions to the industry and the organization at Allegra Network’s convention this August in Las Vegas.

Carl Gerhardt, former president and CEO of Allegra Network, has assumed the duties of chairman. With McIntyre and Gerhardt transitioning into new roles, Mike Marcantonio, former chief strategy officer, has been named CEO and president.

Gerhardt’s long association with the industry began when he and his wife, Judy, owned and operated their own successful Allegra Network franchise for nearly 20 years before selling the $2.3 million operation in 2003. He came to Allegra Network as COO and president before assuming the role of CEO in 2007. Gerhardt is a PrintImage International/NAQP Honorary Lifetime Member and was inducted into NAPL’s prestigious Soderstrom Society in 2010 in recognition of his contribution to the industry.

Marcantonio joined Allegra Network in 2000 as an investor. In the role of chief strategy officer, he led the company’s aggressive plan to help its franchise members evolve into professional marketing services providers and will continue to define new ways to enable them to execute multi-channel and new media marketing tactics.
