Visitors to FESPA Fabric, FESPA 2010's garment printing 'show within a show' can look forward to an exciting educational program focused on business growth and enhanced profitability.
Under the banner Fresener's Fabric, the action-packed program is a series of 20 educational and inspirational sessions running throughout the five-day show, created by leading garment print guru, Scott Fresener. These free informative masterclasses, delivered by Scott and his hand-picked line-up of fellow garment industry experts, will look at the processes of garment decoration, trends and future developments, and new technologies and applications.
Taking place between 10.30 and 14:00 in FESPA's dedicated Fabric Innovation Theatre, Fresener's Fabric is guaranteed to offer garment printing business owners an invaluable insight into the creative opportunities accessible within garment decoration and textile printing, and how these can be harnessed to develop service offering and stimulate profitable growth.
"Scott has an infectious passion for garment printing, matched with deep sector expertise, an enviable network of global industry contacts, plus great energy and charisma. He was the ideal partner to work with us on a programme that we're convinced will help garment printers and decorators to be more productive and profitable, while innovating and adding value with fresh thinking and new techniques," said Frazer Chesterman, managing director, FESPA.
Industry consultant and regular FESPA speaker Charlie Taublieb will feature in the line-up with two masterclasses of his own, including Special Effects for Garment Screen Printing. Demonstrating that plain t-shirts are out and shirts with specialty inks are in, this promises an eye-opening insight into the use of great special effects that add a whole new dimension to garment printing.
Dave Dennings, technical product manager at KIWO Inc, will impart his vast screenprinting knowledge, with useful tips and tricks on the pitfalls to avoid when printing water based and discharge ink, and industry experts Jeff Proctor, Robert Deppner, Geoff McCue, and Mark Coudray will address other facets of printing on garments, with a focus on productivity and process optimization.
Fresener will conduct several sessions, two of which, Making the move from Screen Printing to Direct-to-Garment and The State of Direct-to-Garment - Today and Beyond, will look at how printers can increase speed, decrease ink costs and overcome past obstacles as digital direct-to-garment printing becomes a mainstay printing method. Printers looking to explore the world of digital textile printing can also hear from digital visionaries Sophie Matthews-Paul and Vince Cahill.
"Visitors to FESPA Fabric should come ready for a shake-up! There are so many hot new ideas, techniques and processes out there that can shift printers out of a rut and get them printing more productively and more creatively than they ever thought possible. These charismatic garment evangelists will push the boundaries for the traditionalists and make sure that even the enlightened printers in our audience leave with one more tool in their arsenal to help them build a better business," said Fresener, program coordinator.
