On the show floor at GRAPH EXPO is a full slate of press/finishing attractions, including digital finishing technologies.

Digital finishing equipment provides the ability to add enhancements, value and creativity to products.

Specifically for GRAPH EXPO 15 attendees, Konica Minolta (Booth 1913) is previewing MGI JETVARNISH 3DS: digital embossing and new hot foil stamping option for stunning visual impact offering customers added value and creativity by transforming prints into irresistible, eye-catching communications tools with immediate appeal.

MGI Digital Technology (Booth 3013) has been awarded Printing Industries of America’s 2015 InterTech Technology Award for theiFOIL Digital Hot Foiling System. The iFOIL is part of an integrated, inline product suite that features the MGI’sJETvarnish 3D Digital Spot UV Coater, which received the coveted InterTech Award in 2013.

At GRAPH EXPO MGI is demonstrating the iFOIL & JETvarnish 3D solutions in live production – as well as a new breakthrough Digital Toner Foiling product, the iFOIL T.

Highcon Systems (Booth 1939) also received a 2015 InterTech Technology Award, for its Highcon Euclid digital finishing technology. The Highcon Euclid machine incorporates several brand new approaches to finishing. and eliminates the need for a die. This translates into extremely rapid setup time, and the ability to edit, correct or change the layout at any stage in the process.

The heart of the system is the patented Highcon DART (Digital Adhesive Rule Technology). This proprietary technology makes use of state-of-the-art resin to write the creases on the DART foil.

For cutting and etching, Highcon has implemented an array of lasers and optics. The Highcon Euclid uses a number of new technologies that enable high-quality cutting and etching as well as unique intricate shapes and customized cartons.

Scodix (Booth 2231) Foil HD digitally creates a brilliant foil effect simply, efficiently, in-house with no waste or mess. PSPs and folding-carton converters can produce the luxury effect for a wide variety of applications: marketing literature, stationery items, book covers, boxes and premium packages, greeting cards, photo albums and more – the opportunities are endless.

Scodix Foil uses conventional foils to produce a wide range of colors such as gold, silver and bronze.  The inline engine is available with the Scodix Ultra Pro digital enhancement press. The automatic polymer switching system on the Scodix Ultra Pro lets customers switch between the specially formulated FOIL, SPOT and other Scodix SENSE enhancements with ease.
