The :Apogee Users Group has convened annually for more than 10 years, providing a platform for Agfa’s :Apogee users to network, share best practices, optimize current processes and learn the new features of the :Apogee Suite, Agfa’s automated workflow system, directly from Agfa executives.

This year's user meeting is Monday, Sept. 12 from 4:00 pm -7:00 pm in Room S106b in the South Building, Level 1, McCormick Place. Agfa expects as many as 75 :Apogee users, who will have an opportunity to mingle over refreshments and share their experiences before the scheduled meeting events. Sessions include the highly popular "Tips and Tricks" presented by Agfa's Academy team, a sneak preview of the forthcoming :Apogee 7.1 release, and a keynote and Q&A with representatives from Agfa HQ.

"We plan to give users an overview of :Apogee 7.1 which is launching at GRAPH EXPO," says Mark Gallucci, Agfa Graphics Manager of Technology Marketing, Commercial Software & CtP, North America. "Representatives from Agfa's Commercial Software team will be onsite to preview the workflow and offer a sneak preview of :Apogee Suite 8. Current and future :Apogee users should not miss this event."

:Apogee 7.1 Workflow includes :Apogee Prepress, Agfa's JDF-enabled prepress production hub that provides automation throughout the production environment. :Apogee Prepress includes the latest version of Adobe PDF Print Engine, which significantly enhances rendering performance since PDF files are rendered natively and transparencies are automatically resolved during the rendering process. :Apogee Prepress offers multi-part job support allowing users to combine the different parts of a job in one ticket, reducing setup time allowing for easy status tracking, and includes the groundbreaking :Apogee Impose automated imposition system.

“Agfa looks forward to reconnecting with the :Apogee Users Group members at GRAPH EXPO. We use the opportunity to showcase what’s on the horizon and to gain a deeper understanding of our member’s latest business challenges. It’s also a great forum for members to share best practices with each other. We find it an invaluable way to solicit feedback for developing the next generation of workflow software and supporting technologies,” says Deborah Hutcheson, Agfa Graphics, Director of Marketing, North America.
