Mailing Pros Inc. Acquires MCS Eagle Flexprint
MCS's latest technology provides necessary speed for political season.
MCS, Inc. has announced that Mailing Pros Inc. of Huntington Beach CA has recently acquired the MCS Eagle FlexPrint inkjet printer. Mailing Pros Inc. is a full service mail house, providing design, database, lettershop, variable data printing, EDDM, fulfillment and other services.
Founded in 2000 in owner Chris West's garage, the company has grown tenfold. "Our first two employees who reported to work at that garage are still with us today. We now have 11 employees and occupy 7000 square feet. We're not a garage operation anymore," quips West.
Mailing Pros serves several specialty markets including political, nonprofit, realtors and municipalities, as well as commercial organizations.
The company has had the MCS Array system for several years, and recently upgraded to the Eagle FlexPrint. "We needed more capacity due to our growing presence in the political mail market. Our work requires fast turnaround, and productivity, speed and efficiency are required for our clients. Two things appealed to me with the FlexPrint: speed and reduction of ink cost," West explains.
The MCS Eagle FlexPrint offers performance similar to UV Inkjets, but with the flexibility of water-based inks. In today's market, it pays to be efficient. Speed, quality, print width and ink cost make the MCS FlexPrint the most advanced inkjet in the mailing and printing industries. The FlexPrint can easily address mail at over 30,000 pieces per hour, at 600DPI. The permanent piezo head offers the lowest total cost of imaging at 600DPI. It has the ability to print on glossy stocks, aqueous and uncoated stocks.
West describes his experience with the FlexPrint: "We use a lot of glossy card stock in our mailings, and we're finding that with the FlexPrint, this stock lends itself well to the ink formula. Speaking of ink, we've noticed that our ink goes much further with the FlexPrint. In a large recent mailing, we were able to produce 1.16 million pieces before the ink needed to be replaced. In fact, we expect our ink expense to drop by about 1/3rd over the next year!"
"We're finding that the FlexPrint is producing more output than two of our other machines put together, and then some! And we've been able to eliminate subbing work out and a lot of overtime", West proudly notes. "It's a workhorse, all right!"
