The Océ VarioPrint i300 fills the speed and capacity gap that exists between conventional high-end toner-based cutsheet presses and entry-level continuous-feed inkjet presses. By doing so, the VarioPrint i300 can help print service providers to find the right print solutions and create new market opportunities, applications and transform their business model. Sheet-fed flexibility and an attractive price point make the press accessible to a much broader audience in the transaction, direct mail, book and manual markets. Printing at up to 294 letter images per minute, the Océ VarioPrint i300 can produce monthly volumes of up to 10 million letter images. By utilizing up to B3 sheet sizes, the press is better optimized to leverage existing finishing solutions for true end-to-end, automated workflows. Featuring a patented four-color ink system and new ColorGrip technology, the Océ VarioPrint i300 prints on a wide range of media, including uncoated, coated and inkjet treated paper from 60-300 gsm. It leverages proven technologies from Canon, a worldwide leader in production inkjet solutions, including Océ ColorStream® DigiDot inkjet print head technology and solid Océ VarioPrint media handling.

Océ TrueProof V5, a software proofing tool for time-critical production printing now comes with two optional modules for color proofing either as soft-proof on a calibrated LCD monitor or as hardcopy color proof on the Canon imagePROGRAF 6450. Océ TrueProof V5 allows print providers to cope with inconsistencies in layout, registration, job estimating and optionally color proofing, all during the file preparation process and prior to final production, helping to ensure the customer will get the printed product they need while gaining production efficiency. Océ TrueProof allows a pixel-precise preview of applications, with registration accuracy of recto/verso printing in a semi-transparent preview, a superimposing of preprinted forms to check for imprint alignment and data and resources integrity through the entire print workflow, including RIP. Moreover, Océ TrueProof V5 determines color coverage and calculates ink usage for vital costs calculations.  The new, optional, SoftProof tool creates press quality soft proofs on high-end calibrated LCD displays to gain customer approval or expedite color adjustments if necessary, prior to final production. Océ SoftProof combines calibration, validation, visualization and customer communication in to an easy to use software package.

With the PRISMAsync family of color print servers, Canon is proud to present the first DFE-embedded Idealliance G7 Certified System. Canon has created a unique, simple, wizard-driven procedure and software embedded in the PRISMAsync Color Print Server for Canon imagePRESS digital color presses to remove virtually all of the challenges to G7 calibration - the de facto high bar standard in offset printing - for a digital device. Further empowering customers to achieve higher levels of quality, PRISMAsync Color Print Servers for imagePRESS include Canon’s own developed profiling engine to create output profiles, either to achieve G7 targeted or colorspace conformance, or simply to create an output profile in order to improve gamut or consistency to better meet in-house goals.  These DFE-based tools require no additional investment in software, hardware or training for the average end user to achieve high standards of quality and color consistency. This user convenience helps increase the accessibility of G7 calibration for printers using digital presses and decrease barriers to profile creation for users. Visit the Canon booth for a PRISMAsync G7 calibration demonstration and check out the live production on PRISMAsync-driven imagePRESS color digital presses.

With the increasing demand for full color in almost every kind of application, from statements up to direct mailings and brochures, today’s applications are becoming more complex. The Océ Color Control Suite can help customers reduce the costs associated with achieving and maintaining consistent color output to lower costs, reduce waste and drive revenue growth. Océ Color Control Suite helps to ensure that color is defined in the same way at each step of your workflow ensuring similar appearance of color from job creation to final output.   By optimizing the color gamut of presses, ensuring consistent color space across multiple devices over time, and that devices adhere to color specification throughout the workflow, Océ Color Control Suite helps customers ensure the printed product at the end of the production workflow matches the intentions of the original.  Océ Color Control Suite provides the necessary inkjet tools to establish color standards, monitor performance and eliminate operator skill dependencies to adhere to consistent color across multiple devices, or in a distributed print environment where the shared appearance of output across multiple color platforms is mission critical.

Canon’s 24-inch wide imagePROGRAF PRO-2000 large format printer provides image quality and color consistency necessary for ultra-high quality photography and fine art prints. The printer uses a 1.28 inch wide 12-channel print head, an 11-color LUCIA PRO ink set plus Chroma Optimizer, and an L-COA PRO high-speed image processing engine to print with quality and speed. The PRO-2000 printer can take advantage of a Canon-to-Canon workflow, linking images shot by an EOS Digital Camera and printed on an imagePROGRAF PRO Series printer. The imagePROGRAF PRO-2000 printer is among a series of Canon printers to be the first to utilize a Chroma Optimizer ink system within the LUCIA PRO ink set. The LUCIA PRO ink formulation, 11-color pigment inks and Chroma Optimizer, includes microencapsulated colorants that deliver smooth gradients, an expanded color range and deep color expression, helping professionals achieve stunning color reproduction, image clarity, and enhanced darker areas in their photographs. Designed to produce consistent color, the PRO-2000 includes a built-in color densitometer that calibrates the printer to its optimal settings. Using a three-color LED and newly developed condenser lens, the sensor enables accurate recalibration of the device, helping maintain color consistency from print to print and printer to printer.

The 8-color 60-inch wide imagePROGRAF PRO-6000S large format printer by Canon, designed for the production signage and commercial photography markets, exceeds expectations for speed and color consistency in a large format production printer. By using a new 1.28-inch wide 12-channel integrated compact print head, LUCIA PRO ink set, a high-precision mechanical platform and the L-COA PRO high-speed image processing engine, the PRO-6000S achieves a balance between high-speed printing and exceptional print quality. Providing increased versatility, the imagePROGRAF PRO-6000S features a standard Multifunction Roll System. The Multifunction Roll System can be used in to different ways.  It can enable you to load a second roll of a different media type and size at the same time so that you can automatically switch from printing on matte to gloss paper without interrupting your workflow, or the unit can be operator configured as a bi-directional Take-up Unit. Focused on providing the highest possible quality output, the PRO-6000S allows the end user to effortlessly load the media with “no touch” capabilities. After setting the roll holder and rotating the handles, the printer automatically feeds the media into the printer without the touch of the operator; helping avoid creases, blemishes and fingerprints.

Production Control System Software Solution (PCS) is the latest expansion to Production Print Solutions’ automated workflow software portfolio. PCS, a powerful end-to-end software solution, helps simplify order intake, streamline workflow, maximize productivity, maintain order persistence and provide real-time displays to gauge on-time performance of large volumes, ultra-short runs typical of the digital book manufacturing and commercial print industry. Printing books on digital presses allows flexibility to print in volumes as low as one and restock specific orders, paving the way for faster time to market and helping to keep titles from never going out of print, lowering inventory cost, and giving printers and publishers the ability to add variable content and open new market opportunities for personalization and customized books.  PCS provides automated workflow processes, job management and tracking to drive profitability by reducing the cost of the short run digital production. PCS gives book manufacturers and commercial printers the ability to work more efficiently. The system takes control of job management, implementing adaptive and efficient workflows, aligning supply with short-run demand, reducing inventory-associated cost and risk, reducing distribution costs and expanding service offerings to build market share, acquire new customers and continue to help increase profitability.
