RR Donnelley Facility Again Achieves Voluntary Protection Program Star Status by OSHA

RR Donnelley & Sons Company has announced that its Crawfordsville, Indiana South Plant facility has again been certified to Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star Status by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA). Approval into the VPP is OSHA's official recognition of the outstanding efforts of employers and employees who have achieved exemplary occupational safety and health. RR Donnelley maintains five OSHA Voluntary Protection Program Star Status certified facilities. This recertification complements the Indiana OSHA Voluntary Protection Program Star status achieved by the Crawfordsville North Plant facility earlier this year.

"Among the many milestones that RR Donnelley achieved in 2014, we regard those involving safety as the most important," said Dan Knotts, RR Donnelley's Chief Operating Officer. "Achieving initial certification as a VPP Star facility is demanding, but recertification adds the extra challenge of demonstrating continuous improvement. Star certification is the highest certification level granted by OSHA and is awarded only after organizations complete an application process and undergo a rigorous onsite evaluation conducted by a team of health and safety professionals. These VPP certifications signify the implementation of effective health and safety management systems and injury and illness rates below national Bureau of Labor Statistics averages for the printing industry.
