Pressing On: Rebranding Our Print Brand and Website
Readers, to better serve you, please bid adieu to Quick Printing and say hello (again) to Printing News.
Consolidating, contracting, and changing: three words that describe the transformation of the printing industry as we knew it. Cute alliteration aside, these descriptors are accurate, which is why our team has decided to rebrand this publication and its website.
For the last three plus decades, Quick Printing has served a very important niche in the commercial printing market. However, the publication has continued to grow and change with the ebb and flow of the industry. To keep pace, QP’s coverage in print and online expanded to include content for commercial plants of all sizes: small, medium, and large. As loyal readers and advertisers, you’ve already seen some of these changes as we have broadened the scope of our reportage to cover topics including industrial print applications, such as 3D printing, all the way to label and package printing.
Really, this rebranding is nothing more than a name change. Printing News features articles appropriate to all printers, including those of the “quick” variety. Many of the same columnists and contributors that you’ve come to know (and love!) still will offer their sage advice on these pages and pixels. And yes, our ever-popular QP Top 100 list will be published in 2016 and in subsequent years. (Watch for the online application next January.)
Our Renewed Name
Many East Coast readers, especially those in the New York metro area, will remember Printing News as a regional weekly. The publication had a brief stint as a national monthly magazine in 2011, after which we retained the PN brand as an e-newsletter and social-media property (@PrintingNews on Twitter has more than 18,500 followers).
Our MyPRINTResource web portal, where all content for this publication as well as for sister pubs Inkjet’s Age and Wide-Format & Signage, is being replaced with a new URL: PrintingNews.com. At this Internet domain, you can find additional resources including industry news releases posted daily, new product announcements, white papers, videos, and more.
If you have any questions about our resurrected PN brand, please don’t hesitate to call or email me. Better yet, if you’re at Graph Expo mid-month, our entire team will be in Chicago reporting on all the printing news coming out of the show. If you can’t find me in Booth 240, come upstairs to the Official Show Daily newsroom and offer your feedback.
