Network PDF Intros FOLDRite Template Master
Network PDF Press Release

Network PDF, in collaboration with Finishing Experts Group, Inc., the creators of the GATF InterTech Award-winning FOLDRite system, announce the release of FOLDRite Template Master for Adobe InDesign CS2 and InDesign CS3. This exciting new software plug-in does something that has never been done before-it pushes proper file setup for folded materials upstream to the designer. The user must simply choose their folding style (one of 85 FOLDRite folds), enter the desired finished size or flat sheet size, and the template is instantly generated directly through InDesign. Templates are compensated for the folding process using FOLDRite's industry-approved compensation formulas, and come complete with fold marks in place and panel cues in the pasteboard.

"Adobe InDesign is a staple in the design workflow and we're excited to align with Network PDF to give our customers a quick and easy way to develop folded materials," said Michael Ninness, senior product manager for InDesign at Adobe. "Template Master will help InDesign users save time and costs during the design and print production processes."

Template Master was designed to solve a long-standing problem in the print industry-improper file set up for the folding process. Trish Witkowski, president of Finishing Experts Group, Inc. and creator of the FOLDRite System states, "Over the years, for lack of a better solution, printers have worked around the problem, fixing designers' files over and over in the background. It's a huge speed-bump in the production process. We knew we could greatly improve the way the process works, and we're very excited about the solution we came up with."

The paper industry is also pleased with the product. "Foldability is a critical characteristic of paper," states Daniel Dejan, North American ETC PrintCreative Manager, Sappi Fine Paper North America. "and great quality and foldability of paper is diminished by poor production value, so we welcome FOLDRite's technology that further improves the finished product by making sure the file is set up correctly for the best possible result."

Launched in 2002 by Finishing Experts Group, Inc. (FEG), the FOLDRite system was the product of seven years of research. FOLDRite(tm) documents 186 folding styles in total and is the only brochure folding classification system in the industry today. In 2004, FEG launched http://www.foldfactory.com, a subscription-based online custom digital template creator. In 2004, FOLDRite was awarded the GATF InterTech Award for innovative excellence. In the years since, FEG has partnered with Network PDF to develop and market FOLDRite products for the graphic arts industry.
