Ehret Control Showcases SVC 525 C Sheeter at drupa
Ehret Control Press Release

Ehret Control presented its SVC 525 C sheeter at drupa. The unit's cutting and cutout formats are fully adjustable set up to maximum speed – even from cut-to-cut or cutout-to-cutout. This means that it is now possible to produce finishing forms with a qualitatively superior rotary scissor cut principle – at about four times the service performance and the simplest controls, previously achieved only when using guillotine fly knives, Other new products presented at the trade fair by the specialists for web finishing solutions include an especially economical digital sheeter, digital unwinding and rewinding, and a double module consisting of a plough folding and a split & merge unit.

Patented Principle
Thanks to its fully adjustable selection of formats and cutouts, the SVC 525 C digital fly knife opens up completely new horizons for discerning users, and achieves the best performance Figures. The highest level of user comfort also leads to a major reduction of set-up time. Swapping the formats and changing the cutout lengths is accomplished simply by input on the touch panel, supported by a visual user interface, and without any mechanical effort. The new economy version, the SVC 521 C, also has its controls integrated into a comfortable touch panel. Both models use Ehret’s patented rotating scissor-cut principle. Both exhibit a low level of wearing parts and optimum accessibility, e.g. for cartridge-style cutting units and for long-life hard steel knives. Both of these features place the SVC 525 C and the SVC 521 C in a maintenance-friendly category. The job memory also saves time for repeat orders, allowing any number of jobs (SVC 525 C) or 100 jobs (SVC 521 C) to be stored. Even at their maximum speed of 615’/min (185 m/min) both models are remarkable for their great precision: the transverse and longitudinal cutting accuracy, and the lateral web registering accuracy is ± 0.2 mm (± 1/128”)

Straight off the web
With the digital UW 2 unwinding unit, and the RW 2 rewinding unit, Ehret Control offers an excellent selection of models for all letter shops and digital print shops, with measureable value for the money for inline and offline production from the web. With a maximum speed of 735’/min (225 m/min) both machines offer a great reserve capacity and therefore investment safety as well – the fastest digital printers currently achieve 500’/min (150 m/min). Touch panels are also used for easy operation and minimum set-up times. Its integrated vacuum box reduces the space required for the complete production line. Since it is possible to use it both with and without web tension, the UW 2 and the RW 2 can be used in combination with all digital printing machines. The paper qualities that can be used range from 24 lb – 260 lb (36 to 400 g/m2), therefore covering all common paper weights.

Two in One
To achieve excellent profitability from the growing area of transactional printing, Ehret Control’s new PSM 520 double module offers users an economical basis. It permits both split & merge and plough fold production with one machine. Its integrated vacuum box and in-feed system make it suitable for both inline and offline production. The split & merge module permits the running of a split web - one on top of the other - with precise registration. This makes it possible to double personalized webs, or webs printed on just one side at the highest speeds. The plough fold model enables longitudinal folding at a maximum production speed of 1,000’/min (300 m/min) and is suited for 4, 8 and 16 pages. For the user this means potential job expansion from the typical “90 degree jobs” and subsequent, appreciable, space-saving – with a sizeable increase in productivity.
