Print Tech Receives The NJBIZ Green Leadership Award in Pollution Prevention
Print Tech

Print Tech’s environmental efforts have been recognized in the category of Pollution Prevention by NJBiz Magazine’s First Annual NJBiz Green Leadership Awards. The NJBiz Green Leadership Awards honor and celebrate New Jersey’s businesses for their environmental achievements and initiatives.

“Print Tech has been concerned with the environmental impact of printed materials for a long time,” said Russell Evans, CEO of Print Tech. “As a result, Print Tech pursues a pro-active “green” strategy based on the simple axiom of reduce, reuse, and recycle.”

“Our production facility has spearheaded our environmental efforts on several major fronts,” according to Gary Alessio, Print Tech’s Executive Vice President/Partner. “First, Print Tech became Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified in 2008, allowing us to offer papers that are tracked from responsibly managed forests, recycled or a combination of both. Next, we use vegetable-based inks that do not contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) found in solvent-based distillates. Finally, our digital presses use non-toxic toners and allow us to print only what the customer needs, reducing the amount of paper, ink, and energy used, while eliminating the need to store unused materials that become outdated and eventually end up in landfills.”

Dan Schulz, Print Tech’s CFO/Partner, sees results in both numbers and attitudes. “We collect and recycle approximately 70 tons of paper a year which include all of our office paper and printing waste. Our employees have been enthusiastic about getting behind our “green” agenda, not for the awards or recognition, but because it is what we all believe is in the best interest of our environment.”
