NewPage Interviews Top U.S. Execs on Podcast Series 'On Paper'


NewPage Corp., North America's leading coated paper manufacturer, announced today the launch of Season 2 of its podcast interview series "On Paper". NewPage participated in the second annual Fortune: Brainstorm GREEN conference and recorded 17 back-to-back On Paper interviews with global leaders from international industries to encourage dialogue on sustainability issues. The first featured guest for On Paper Season 2 is Paul Hawken , author, environmentalist and entrepreneur with Biomimicry Ventures Group.

The On Paper series (www.OnPaperSeries.com) focuses on relevant issues associated with sustainability, and features experts on corporate responsibility, renewable energies, carbon strategy, waste and forest management. Season 1 of the On Paper series has already amassed more than 800,000 listeners, and Season 2's numbers are expected to be much greater. At the Fortune: Brainstorm GREEN conference, NewPage constructed a glass recording booth for the On Paper series, adjacent to the conference check-in desk. The booth garnered the attention of attendees, which included President Bill Clinton and Van Jones , Obama's Special Advisor to the White House Council on Environmental Quality.

The sustainability interviews conducted at Fortune: Brainstorm GREEN feature members of well-known organizations such as Conservation International, Greenpeace, Herman Miller , IBM, Intel, Interface, McDonald's, Oakleaf Waste Management, Sodexo, Starbucks, Sustainable Forestry Initiative, Time, Inc. and Verizon. A special two-guest interview features NewPage Corporation's own President and CEO Rick Willett along with Craig Hanson , director, People & Ecosystems, World Resources Institute (WRI) as they discuss their joint venture, Project POTICO (Palm Oil, Timber, Carbon Offsets), an important initiative to preserve endangered virgin rainforests in Indonesia by moving new palm oil plantations to already degraded lands.
