Where's the Money? Web-to-Print

"In a sense, that is why I founded www.PrintPURL.com. Here's how our system works; first we send out a personalized, variable printed mailer using a regular database, but instead of asking the end user to call or go to a regular Web site, we direct them to their own personalized URL (pURL)," he continued.

He went on to explain that unlike regular Web sites, only pURLs are 100-percent traceable. When customers log on to a pURL, the company can track them. PrintPURL.com then asks the customers questions about their needs, and their answers provide valuable information.

Although PrintPURL.com is not alone in the pURL market, the fact that the company is 100 percent Web-based separates it from competitors. No software downloads, no training, and no subscription fees are needed.

"If you can get online, you can use our product. We have a simple 'view a demo' on our Web site that will walk anyone through and clearly show how our technology works. We also offer A-Z turnkey solutions from creative through mailing and response tracking," said Kleinfeld.

Both Web companies offer "Give Back" programs. Kleinfeld and his staff feel strongly about its responsibility to community and country: On every order received, 1 percent of all pre-taxed dollars, excluding postage, will be donated to the 503C charitable organizations involved.

"As we all know, the technology in the printing industry is ever changing. It seemed only natural that coupling printing technology with the Internet was a correct fit. Integrating mediums for the sake of more intelligent results was my thinking. My goal has always been singular, to bring better responses and to create more profits via direct mail. Our company is not only positioned to be profitable and a great value to our customers, we are poised to be leaders in the pURL and direct mail marketing industry for years to come," he commented.

Brett Olszewski, senior vice president, sales and marketing, K/P Corp., headquartered in San Ramon, Calif., described the importance of using interlinkONE for Web-to-print.

"We are a direct marketing solutions company that originated from print and continues to embrace print as a core competency. We've been around for 80 years, and have been working with interlinkONE for almost eight. We use interlinkONE as an off-the-shelf solution that integrates and augments with our own proprietary solutions. All printers (nationwide) who plan to transition into digital and VDP capabilities can use interlinkONE," said Olszewski.
